Individual counseling (or therapy) is tailored to the needs of the client and Anne’s style in session is relaxed and flexible. Each client sets his or her own goals and pace of the work. The purpose of therapy is to reflect on yourself and your life, gaining greater understanding, peace, and confidence to handle whatever stressors arise in life.

Anne works with clients dealing with life stresses, anxiety, and depression. She has a special interest in women’s health issues including pregnancy, postpartum issues, and recovering from trauma. Anne’s knowledge of yoga and meditation influences her work as a therapist through her focus on mindfulness, acceptance, compassion, and utilizing calming techniques. She is also experienced in psychodynamic and existential therapy techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal therapy. Anne’s integrated perspectives and passion for helping people explore themselves leads to her being a compassionate and effective counselor.

Individual sessions

Group sessions

Group counseling is an amazing tool for self-discovery. It may seem counter-intuitive but group therapy is actually considered a more intensive therapy than individual. Anne has been leading groups for eight years and has designed programs and even written her own curriculum for specific programs on anxiety and trauma.

Yoga workshops

Anne leads trainings for yogis and counselors on being trauma-informed and the value of integrating yoga into mental health.

Anne currently leads a Trauma Sensitive Yoga class at Embarque studio on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30. This is a $10 drop-in class for LGBTQ+ and allies. Anne will be leading through the end of September.

We are gathering interest in a weekend yoga class as well, at the office location.
